General Rules of MyeScience
MyeScience is a free, international, not-for-profit academic discussion forum. It consists of members who are here to learn new information & to help each other.
To enable the smooth & orderly functioning of this forum, we have certain rules & regulations. Members breaking these rules & regulations may be warned & penalised for repeat violations.
Note: The different subforums may also have specific rules & regulations. Please refer to them before posting.
1) Use only English. Do not use shortened language (for example: 'ur' instead of 'your', 'gud' instead of 'good', etc.). We have members from all over the world in this forum & they must be able to understand what you want to say.
2) Be polite to each other & respect the moderators & administrators. Do not type in CAPITALS! It is like shouting at a person in real life! If you have a problem with another member, send a message to the moderator of the subforum.
3) Do not post or send messages which are obscene, insulting, inflammatory, hateful or threatening in nature. It is also forbidden to discuss political & religious issues in MyeScience.
4) Be honest. Do not claim others' work/effort as yours. Do not impersonate others. Register only one account for your use.
5) Always search before posting to avoid duplication. The information/question you want to post may already exist in the forum. Also do not bump, cross-post or double-post.
6) Try to post in the correct subforum related to the content of your post/thread. Moderators may move your post/thread to a suitable subforum if necessary.
7) Do not post spam (spam = 'Thank you', 'Thanks', 'Good', 'thanksssssssss', 'gooooood', 'hmmmmm...', '!@#$%^&*()_+', etc.). Always use the 'Thanks' button for this purpose. If you do not have anything meaningful to say, do not post it.
8) Advertising other forums, blogs & sites in MyeScience is strictly forbidden. Do not create posts/threads or send PMs/emails to other members containing advertisements. Members receiving PMs or emails containing advertisements are requested to inform super moderators/administrators of MyeScience immediately.
Please note: If something is not specifically mentioned in the rules, moderators & administrators have the authority to make an informed decision.
CREDITS & USERGROUPS:
1) Credits are nothing but imaginary points which measure your contribution to MyeScience in the various ways possible.
2) Having a certain number of credits will make you a member of a usergroup. A usergroup is nothing but a set of privileges which are available to you.
3) MyeScience has 6 usergroups - Newbie, Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior & Master. See the table below to know the privileges available to different usergroups.
